Derby’s Flower Beetle (Dicronorrhina derbyana derbyana)

A striking African flower beetle known for its metallic green coloration, bold cream markings, and impressive adult size. Dicronorrhina derbyana derbyana makes an excellent display species and is a rewarding choice for beetle keepers and breeders.

Care

Larvae should be kept in a deep layer of nutrient-rich flake soil or well-decayed hardwood substrate, which serves as both their habitat and primary food source. Keep the substrate slightly moist but never wet or waterlogged.

Once mature, adults benefit from a spacious, well-ventilated enclosure with plenty of climbing surfaces and several inches of substrate for burrowing and egg laying.
